Some Updates and Pictures

Dezi turned 9 months old/young today. He will have is 9 month doctors appointment on the 16th. He will get another round of shots. We are not looking forward to them but he gets better with them each visit. He has been fighting several colds over the past few months. He has another one right now. He had a couple of ear infections and had to take two different prescriptions to get rid of them. We are hoping that it will get better and tubes in his ears will not be needed. We are excited for his first Christmas and look forward to getting some more up dated pictures.

Some Additional Photos

I had to make another post for the additional photos. There are so many good ones it is difficult

to decide which ones to post.

Updated Pictures of Dezi

It has been awhile since I have updated to blog so I am going to post some random pictures of the last month. Dezi is 7 months old in these picutures. They include pictures from Dezi's first MU Homecoming and his first Halloween.

Stop.. Shower Time!

Dezi and Papi playing under the shower. Dezi is a fan of the water and has begun splashing in his tub when he takes a bath now. Every once in a while he gets a chance to step in under the big shower with Papi. He has a great time waving his hands in the water.

Longest Nap Ever

Dezi does really well taking naps after a nice walk but today he has been asleep for a good 2 hours. It amazes me how he likes to be outside. It must be really relaxing for him.

Long Time Waiting...

It has been a long time waiting for me to get some really good material together for the blog. I have not been doing very well with keeping the blog updated but these pictures are worth the wait as far as I am concerned. Today was the first day Dezi had cereal! A milestone to be recorded and documented. We documented with pictures. We felt that Dezi was more interested in his bib than he was the cereal eating experience. We hope that he will be more interested in the next couple of days.
The pictures are of Dezi playing in his jumper right before feeding time (Another must have piece of equipment for Melissa).

Quick Update and Some New Photo's

Dezi is doing well and so is mama and papi. We have seen new changes recently with the introduction of Dezi grabbing any and everything in sight. He is also laughing more each day
during play time. He talks to us in the morning but we just wish we knew what he was trying to say. He loves being outside with
us and enjoys his stroller rides around the neighborhood. Enjoy some new pics. I have some additions of the professional
pictures Melissa had done and a few from our
digital cam of Dezi around the house.

Dezi Playing at School

Dezi has been at school now for a few months and has progressively done better each month. What is exciting is that he is doing a lot better with his bottle feedings. Dezi reached a new mile marker taking a full 6 ounce feeding the other afternoon. Also, he has consistently been doing better with taking at least a couple of 4 ounce feedings each day.

He had his 4 month check up this past week. and another round of shots. This time around he did a lot better with managing the pain. It always hurts our heart to see him cry by someone inflicting pain but in all he did very well. Dezi weighed at 14.8 pounds and measured 25.5 inches long. He continues to be in the 50th percentile on the growth charts.

Here is Dezi playing at school with a fellow playmate this past week. They all seem to play well together at this age.

Dezi Photo Shoot

Melissa had some professional pictures taken of Dezi a month ago. We finally got the pictures back and I thought I would share one with everyone. Melissa had several photos to choose from and from that collection they were put on to one large print that will be framed. This is one of those pictures that was in that collection.

Anniversary

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year on June 26th. I found a picture from the night I propossed. We had dinner at McCormick and Schmicks that night. Our parents were waiting in the bar area for us after dinner. I remember it like yesterday. I can't imagine what life would be like without any other way than it is today with our new addition to the family.
Many blessings we have and we are ever grateful.

Some Updates...

It's been a number of weeks now since Melissa has been back to work. Dezi is doing better as each week progresses (knock on wood) and he is taking a bottle better than he has in the past weeks. This past Friday Dezi's school was closed for the 4th of July holiday weekend. I had to use a vacation day and stay home with him. We had a really good day. It was a first for me to have him for an entire day with the exception of us visiting Melissa for lunch. I'm looking forward to more days for us to share one on one.

We a couple of milestones this past month as we celebrated Melissa's 30th birthday and our anniversary. Both were special as we celebrated them with Dezi this year. We continue to count our blessings. Here are a few recent pictures to update everyone.

First Day of School

Dezi started attending day care full-time last week. We thought it was only appropriate to take a picture of he and his teacher, Kristal, on his first day of school! He even wore a special first day of school outfit from Grandma Sara. Although Melissa enjoys her work very much, to say it's been tough to adjust to day care would be the understatment of the year. We are very blessed however to have found a wonderful child care center that is less than five minutes from both of our work. Melissa goes at lunch every day to feed him, which is a blessing in itself. Little Dezi isn't so fond of the bottle. He makes his prefrence very clear at each feeding in which mom is not present!

Back from Colorado and Back to Work

We are back from our Colorado trip and Dezi did pretty good for the 10 hour turned 14 hour drive with a baby. Dezi seemed to adapt to the elevation change without any issues. He really did better on the drive home. Melissa had a couple 11 days to enjoy the rest of maternity leave upon returning home and now it is back to work. Melissa had taken Dezi to day care a couple of days this week for a short period of time just to ease into the change. I think it was more for Melissa than Dezi. Friday the 4th is back to work for Melissa and the first full day for Dezi in day care. Neither one of us are really excited about leaving him all day but it is what it is. The challenges of parenthood.

Here are some updated pictures of Dezi. His trip to Colorado and some new pictures from the past week. Dezi will be 12 weeks old tomorrow.

This is a picture of Dezi riding to graduation when we were in Colorado. We have more pictures of the trip from this weekend. I will be updating the blog with those pictures soon!

Dezi & Mom

Dezi and mom at cousin Corey's graduation in Westcliffe, Colorado. Dezi did well with the long drive and the change in altitude. It was a long drive for him being 10 weeks old.

2 Month Check-Up Came with a Price

Dezi had his 2 month check-up yesterday, which was good but came with some bad. Everything was great until he had to get his 5 vaccination shots. He and mom cried their eyes out over it. Dezi was over 23 inches long and almost 12 pounds. He is an average little man as he is in the 50 percentile on all of bench marks. I hope that he continues to keep tracking on growth and at least moves into a higher percentile height. We are happy that he is healthy right now other than the fever he is running from all of his shots. It should be gone by tomorrow or the next day according to the doctor.
